It wasn’t the start to the season that the Jefferson soccer teams were hoping for, as both the boys and the girls teams fell to Jackson County last week.
The boys lost 5-1 to the Panthers, while the girls came up on the short end of a 1-0 final.
Girls’ coach Shannon Dupree said their match with the Lady Panthers was a good one, but Jefferson ran into trouble when their goalkeeper had to leave the game due to a technical red card. Dupree said the player will be out for the next game as well.
