Theron Sapp of the Georgia Bulldogs ~ The Man Who Broke The Drought ~ Crashes into the Grant Field end zone in 1958 to break an eight game losing streak to the Jackets in a 7-0 win.

Three Tennessee Volunteer All-Americans in 1956.  Johnny majors, John Gordy and Buddy Cruze. 

All-American Johnny majors runs for yardage against Baylor in the 1957 Sugar Bowl.  The Vols were upset 13-7 by the Baylor Bears.

Georgia Tech versus Pittsburgh in the 1957 Gator Bowl in acksonville.  Tech defeated the Panthers 21-14.

Coach Bear Bryant ~ Like him or hate him ~ He was very likely the best college coach ever.

The 1956 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.  Losers only to Tennessee by a 6-0 score at grant Field.  Many, including this web-master,  believe this was the best Tech team ever.  They finished 10-1 with a win over Pittsburgh in the Gator Bowl.

In 1958 ~ The LSU Tigers won the National Championship. They had a White Team ( Starters ), A GO Team ( Second String Offensive team ) and they called their defensive team the Chinese Bandits.

Art Beall of Baylor Intercepts a pass thrown from Johnny Majors to Buddy Cruze in the second quarter of the 1956 Sugar Bowl.

Billy Lothridge was Tech's do-everything All-American quarterback in 1960.

Del Shofner was the Most Valuable Player in the 1957 Sugar Bowl when Baylor upset Tennessee 13-7. He went on to a good pro career with the Los Angeles Rams.
