Jefferson High School in 1963.

The 1963 Jefferson Year Book was possibly the best looking Jeffersonian up until that time.

The 1963 annual was dedicated to Miss Irene Rankin.

Coach Edward C. Williams became Jefferson Athletic Director at the start of school in 1962. The former Geogia Tech swimming coach brought with him a new emphasis on sports like gymnastics, wrestling and swimming/diving.

The Jefferson coaching staff. Coach Charles White was head coach in baseball and an assistant in football. Coach Davis still served as head football and track coach. He even coached the boys basketball B-team. Coach Gee had girls varsity and B-team basketball. Coach Robinson was head boys basketball coach, assistant football coach and head tennis coach for boys and girls.

The trampoline became a big attraction during Coach Williams Physycal education classes.

Gymnastics became a student favorite in physical education classes.

Students were discovering they could do a lot of things they didn't know they could do.

Wrestling entered as a physical education class before becoming a varsity sport the following year.

Memorial Stadium: The first game.

With the new olympic size swimmming pool at the stadium, Swimming and diving teams were organized under the direction of Coach Williams.

Gary Brooks ( 83 ) scores the first touchdown in the new stadium on a pass from Roger Jackson.

The '62 Dragons walk down the steps from their upstairs dressing room to the field to face Georgia Industrial in their first game in the new stadium.
