Cecil Buffington is a native Jeffersonian. He spent most of his childhood and adult life in the city of Jefferson, Georgia. He is a 1964 graduate of Jefferson High school. He attended Southern Poly-Technical Institute on a basketball scholarship upon graduation. He received an associate degree from Southern Tech in 1966 in Industrial Management . Buffington entered the public work force in 1967 as a 21 year-old management trainee with the Pillsbury Company in Gainesville, Georgia. In 1970 he enrolled at Gainesville Jr. College and received a second associate degree in General Business . He attended school during the morning and worked full time during the evening as a second-shift production manager from mid-afternoon until mid-night. At the age of 26, he became the youngest processing plant manager of a major poultry processing plant in the United States. The Plant would grow under his leadership to over 1400 employees.

In 2004, Buffington retired from active poultry processing. He returned to Jefferson, where he now resides with his wife of over 40 years, Betty. He continued to work in consulting roles with several major firms as late as 2006.

Buffington is an avid golfer. He enjoys outdoors and spends much of his time when he is not writing out and around his home doing yard-work.

Buffington has completed a second book! ~ High School Super-star: The Junior Year.  It was published in December of 2008. He plans to follow that novel with ~ High school Super-star 2: The Senior Year in August of 2010.   A sequel to his first novel. It is a science-fiction novel with a futuristic setting. It has a shocking ending that will absolutely astonish you. The Chicken Plant II: 2069 ~ is scheduled for publication in  March of  2011.
